The Speak Up: 1️⃣ Trust yourself. 2️⃣ Trust your story. 3️⃣ Trust your audience.

Welcome to the Speak Up Newsletter. Part 3 of 5.

Pre-S: You can listen to the audio version of this newsletter here.

I love listening to podcasts. I love making podcasts. And I love speaking on other people's podcasts.

I want to share with you three podcast interviews of mine, to give you a behind-the-scenes look into the various ways I've shared my story. So much of my podcast interviewee process has required me to trust myself, trust my story, and trust my audience. There are always going to be challenges with trust-building in these three realms, but this trifecta of trust is so important for taking up space and expanding your visibility.

Each of these interviews has a balance between preparation (stories I've talked through, written down, and shared with audiences over and over) and improvisation (bonus anecdotes and tangents, in-the-moment responses after listening generously, and fun ideas that pop into my mind in that moment.)

All of these interviews can be listened to from your favorite podcast player or the links shared below.

🎧 I joined my friend and client Nancy Jane Smith on her podcast, The Happier Approach, to talk about what it takes to make a change in the way we communicate as business owners, leaders, and experts. Nancy shares stories in every episode of her podcast, so it's worth binge-listening to both Season 2 and Season 3 while you're at it.

🎧 Back in February of 2021, I recorded an interview with the brilliant Viv Groskop for her podcast How to Own the Room. Viv and her talented producers turned our conversation into a 5-part Storytelling Masterclass. If you aren't already subscribed to HTOTR on your podcast app, you can listen to these 5 episodes here.

🎧 If you connected with the Peacock card story in my first email, then you are going to love my conversation with Heidi Rose Robbins and Ellen Fondiler on their podcast Chart Your Career.

Enjoy!
